A Giant Paint-By-Number
This mural was a collaborative project created with the college’s Art Club for the school library, exploring and celebrating the significant landscapes and environments of the local area.
The project was developed as a large-scale paint-by-number using Resene test pots. Students worked together to complete the panels, with each individual contribution becoming part of a larger whole.
The mural reflects a sense of place through both its subject matter and its process, bringing together the perspectives, creativity and experiences of the students who contributed to its making. Positioned centrally within the school, the work offers a visual connection to the landscapes that surround the college and form part of the students’ everyday experience of their local environment.
